Mobile App ULLAS & Jan Jan Sakshar Slogan Launched at Bharat Mandapam

The Union Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, on the occasion of Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam, launched the logo, slogan- Jan Jan Sakshar and mobile application ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society): Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 30th July 2023. 

ULLAS: Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram reflects the enthusiasm and vigour of the campaign and symbolises the light of knowledge spreading across every corner of the country, learning in every individual making Jan Jan Sakshar.

About ULLAS

• ULLAS is a user-friendly and interactive app available both on android and ios and will serve as a digital gateway for learners to engage in diverse learning resources through the DIKSHA portal of NCERT. The DIKSHA platform offers engaging learning material, relevant to the prescribed school curriculum, to teachers, students and parents.

• ULLAS app can be used for registration of learners and volunteers either through self-registration or by surveyors.

• ULLAS imparts basic education, digital and financial literacy and critical life skills to citizens aged 15 and above who lost the opportunity to go to school. It is being implemented through volunteerism.

About Bharat Mandapam

• The PM inaugurated the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) complex at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on July 26 which was named Bharat Mandapam.

• The name ‘Bharat Mandapam' is the inspiration of ‘Anubhav Mandapam’ of Bhagwan Basaveshwara. Bhagwan Basaveshwar or Basavanna was a 12th-century philosopher,  known for Socio-Religious Reforms, Vachana Literature and Lingayat Movement in south India.
