Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, launched two major digital initiatives, the Net Zero Portal and the NAPCC Dashboard, in Mumbai on 16th September, World Ozone Day 2026. Both platforms aim to strengthen transparency and coordination in India's climate action efforts.
The Net Zero Portal is a centralized digital platform where Indian entities across sectors can voluntarily register and disclose their Net Zero commitments. Organizations can report their greenhouse gas emissions, set Net Zero targets, and share annual progress updates. While Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reporting is encouraged, Scope 3 reporting remains optional. Entities can also map out their roadmap to Net Zero, covering areas like clean energy adoption, energy efficiency measures, new technologies, and carbon removal methods.
The NAPCC Dashboard offers a single, consolidated view of how the National Missions under the National Action Plan on Climate Change are progressing. It pulls together mission-wise data and key indicators onto one platform, making it easier for ministries and departments to track implementation.
Together, these two platforms reflect the government's push toward tech-driven governance and greater public participation in India's shift toward a low-carbon, climate-resilient future.
