Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched the Swami Vivekanand Yuva Shakti Mission on the occasion of the National Youth Yadav on 12 January 2025 in Bhopal. Every year 12 January is observed as National Youth Day since 1985 to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also inaugurated the world’s largest 3-D rangoli, depicting Swami Vivekananda at the Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal.
The Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti Mission has been launched by the state government keeping in mind Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guiding principle of GYAN (Focusing on the Poor, Youth, Farmers, and Women) and inspired by the principles of Swami Vivekanand.
The Chief Minister also launched the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti Mission Portal and theme song.
The Portal will give information related to the mission to the general public.
Aim of the Mission
The main aims of the mission are as follows;
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also inaugurated the world’s largest 3-D rangoli, depicting Swami Vivekananda in the Shaurya Smarak, Bhopal.
The 18,000-square-foot artwork (225 x 80 feet) has been created by renowned rangoli artist Shikha Sharma Joshi and her team and it also features Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yadav.
The Rangoli made of 4,000 kilograms of eco-friendly natural colours conveys the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti Mission motto of Dialogue, Strength, and Prosperity(Samvad, Samarthya, Samriddhi).
Shikha Sharma Joshi is the ambassador of India’s cleanest city, Indore.
Since 1985, every year 12th of January has been observed as the National Youth Festival in the country to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand. Swami Vivekanand was born as Narendranath Datta in Kolkata on 12 January 1863.
A disciple of Ramkishna he founded the Ramakrishna Math at Belur near Kolkata. He is credited for introducing the Hindu philosophies of Yoga and Vedanta to the West.
A National Youth Festival is organised coinciding with the National Youth Day celebration. The Festival is organised by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in partnership with one of the States/Union Territories. The expenditure is shared between the Centre and the host State/Union Territory..
This year the National Youth Festival 2025 was held in a new format by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports 11-12 January 2025 in New Delhi under Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue.
It was inaugurated by Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on 11 January 2025.
It was also addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 January in which 3,000 dynamic and motivated invited youth participated.
