The Government of India has issued an advisory regarding travel to Iran and Israel, two countries in Western Asia, on April 12, 2024. It warned its citizens not to travel to these West Asian countries due to increasing tension between them.
What type of warning was issued?
- Given the current situation in these West Asian countries, all Indians are advised not to travel to Iran or Israel until further notice.
- All Indian residents in Iran or Israel are urged to contact their respective Indian embassies for registration.
- Indians living here are also requested to take utmost care regarding their safety and keep their activities to a minimum.
Attack on top Iranian military commanders:
- The advisory was issued by the Indian government after Israel carried out an airstrike on Iran's Consulate in Syria.
- Top Iranian military commanders were killed in this attack by Israel. Since then, tension between the two countries has been continuously increasing.
In response, Iran also attacked:

- These workers have gone to Israel as part of the agreement between the two countries. This agreement was before the conflict. The Indian government has urged the Israeli authorities to ensure their safety and well-being.
