Cruise journey from 'Statue of Oneness' to 'Statue of Unity'

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to start cruise service between the main attractions of the state, 'Statue of Oneness' of Omkareshwar and 'Statue of Unity' of Gujarat. The state government will run this cruise service in the Narmada river for about 130 kilometers.

Talks are also going on with the Gujarat government for this. Its initial process has started. Probably the cruise operation will start by next year.

Rural tourism will expand:

In this journey, tourists will be able to experience rural tourism between both the destinations. Travelers will be transported by road from the Statue of Oneness to Kukshi in Dhar.
During this time, the cruise will be taken to places like Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Mandu etc.
From here, tourists will board the cruise and reach Sardar Sarovar Dam and then reach the Statue of Unity.

Main attractions of tourism:

In this tourism, there will be a journey of 190 kilometers by road and 130 kilometers by water route. The entire trip duration will span three nights and four days.
Tourists will be able to experience the natural beauty and bio-diversity available around the Narmada River.
The way the state government is preparing, it is clear that the cruise can be operated till the Statue of Unity by the year 2025.

Government will give subsidy for tourism:

The government will also provide subsidies to agencies wishing to promote cruise operations and water sports. Subsidy will range from 15 to 30 percent depending on the investment.
The cruise will be operated by private companies. In this the tourism department will provide only basic facilities. The Tourism Department is also preparing its own roadmap.
For this, help of officials of the Jal Shakti Ministry of Central Government is also being taken.

Plan to connect Rajghat Dam of Chanderi with Deogarh of UP:

Work is also underway on a plan to connect Rajghat Dam near Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh to Deogarh in Uttar Pradesh. Long distance, inter-state cruise services will be the new attraction.
In this, cruise service will be expanded from Maikal Resort located near Bargi Dam near Jabalpur to Tindini in Mandla district.
Besides, a cruise is also proposed from Dharaji in Dewas to Sailani Tapu east of Omkareshwar, from Sanjeet village to the tent city of Gandhi Sagar.

About Statue of Unity:

It is situated on a river island called Sadhu Bet near Rajpipala, 3.5 km downstream of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, in the Narmada district near Vadodara, Gujarat. A 182 meter high statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was installed here. This was named ‘Statue of Unity’.
On October 31, 2018, Prime Minister Modi unveiled the 'Statue of Unity' on the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This is considered to be the tallest statue in the entire world.
Vallabhbhai Patel served as the inaugural Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India. He was a follower of Mahatma Gandhi.

About Statue of Oneness:

This 108 feet high statue of Adi Shankaracharya is on the Mandhata mountain of the famous pilgrimage Omkareshwar located in Khandwa district of MP. This statue made of three metals has been named the Statue of Oneness.
