About New Zealand

  • The Cook Strait separates New Zealand's two main islands, the North and South Islands. Australia, its nearest neighbour, is 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) away.

  • The South Island in New Zealand is home to Mount Cook, the highest peak at 12,316 feet (3,754 meters) and nicknamed "Cloud Piercer" by the Maori Community.
  • The capital city is Wellington, and the largest urban area is Auckland.

India and New Zealand Trade

  • India primarily imports logs and forestry products, wood pulp, wool, and edible fruit & nuts from NZ.
  • Indian exports to NZ mostly are pharmaceuticals/medications, precious metals and gems, textiles and motor vehicles and non-knitted apparel and accessories.
