Gram Sevak is a very popular and sought-after exam in Rajasthan. This is a state-level examination which is conducted by the Rajasthan Subordinate & Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB). The elected representative appointed by the state government to oversee the activities of the Panchayat is called the Panchayat Sachiv, and they are also called village servants. The village servant is appointed as the secretary of the gram panchayat; it is mandatory for each Panchayat to have a Panchayat Sachiv.
