The Staff Selection Commission administers the SSC Stenographer examination for Group C and D Non-gazetted posts in various Ministries/Departments/Organizations of the Government of India. As a Stenographer in the SSC, your role involves transcribing the speeches of senior officials, aiding in press conferences by documenting proceedings and speeches and supporting the creation of press releases. You'll assist ministers and officers during important government proceedings, maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with the Public Relations officer to communicate the government's stance on various issues effectively.

To get selected for the SSC Stenographer post you have to undergo a two-layer recruitment process which is Stage I a Computer-Based Examination (CBT) featuring multiple-choice questions (MCQs), totaling 200 questions for 200 marks. Questions in the CBT, except for the English language section, will be available in bilingual format (Hindi and English). Stage II involves a Skill Test, where candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the computer-based test. The skill test, although qualifying in nature, is mandatory for all candidates. Failure to participate in the skill test will render candidates ineligible for final selection.
