Shooter Akhil and Anish win gold at the Polish GP

Shooter Akhil Sheoran and Anish Bhanwala won a gold medal each at the Polish Grand Prix which ended on 18 March 2024. The Polish Grand Prix comprised two events held simultaneously in Poland.
It included the Grand Prix Wroclawia and Dolnego Slaska international shooting competition in Wroclaw, and the Jozef Zapedzki Grand Prix Wroclaw.The Indian rifle and pistol shooters finished the Polish Grand Prix with six medals which included two gold medals.
The Indian pistol and rifle contingent is on a tour of Europe to prepare for the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
Shooter Anil Sheoran creates a world record
Anil Sheoran who has already qualified for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics set a new world record of 468.4 points in the men's 50m rifle 3-position event. He broke the world record set by Czech Republic's Jiri Privratsky.
Anil Sheoran won the gold medal while the Czech Republic's Patrik Jany won the silver medal .

- Anil Sheoran won gold in the men's 50m rifle 3-position event.
- Anish Bhanwala won the gold medal at the 25 meter rapid fire pistol event held at the Jozef Zapedzki Grand Prix Wroclaw. Anish has also qualified to participate in the Paris Olympics.
- Ashi Chouksey won the silver medal in the second women's 3P event.
- Shriyanka Sadangi won the bronze medal in the women’s 3P event. She has already qualified for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
Paris Olympic quota holder Niraj Kumar of Indian Navy won two bronze medals in the men's rifle 3P matches.He is the only Indian shooter who bags two medals in the tournament.In the first qualification game, Neeraj returned with 595 points and thereby finished third behind Jany and Rio Olympic silver medalist Serhiy Kulish of Ukraine
