Shooter Akhil Sheoran and Anish Bhanwala won a gold medal each at the Polish Grand Prix which ended on 18 March 2024. The Polish Grand Prix comprised two events held simultaneously in Poland.
It included the Grand Prix Wroclawia and Dolnego Slaska international shooting competition in Wroclaw, and the Jozef Zapedzki Grand Prix Wroclaw.The Indian rifle and pistol shooters finished the Polish Grand Prix with six medals which included two gold medals.
The Indian pistol and rifle contingent is on a tour of Europe to prepare for the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
Anil Sheoran who has already qualified for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics set a new world record of 468.4 points in the men's 50m rifle 3-position event. He broke the world record set by Czech Republic's Jiri Privratsky.
