Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the two-day (8 to 9 December) Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit at the Forest Research Institute, FRI, Dehradun on 8 December 2023. The main objective of this conference is to establish Uttarakhand as a new center of investment.

  • Referring to the tourism sector, Prime Minister Modi said that there is immense potential for investment in tourism in Uttarakhand.
  • On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi appealed to the countrymen to get married in the country instead of organising weddings abroad and asked them to establish Uttarakhand as a destination wedding.

House of Himalayas Brand:

  • On this occasion, the Prime Minister also launched the House of Himalayas Brand of Women Self-Help Groups of Uttarakhand.
  • The Prime Minister said that with this brand, the work of making 2 crore rural women millionaires can be completed rapidly.
  • The Prime Minister also went to see a show related to the Global Investors Summit.
  • Thousands of investors and industry groups from India and abroad are participating in this conference.
