Himachal Pradesh to set up Rajya Chayan Aayog for Group C post recruitment

The Himachal Pradesh cabinet chaired by the chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on 14 September 2023 decided to establish Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog to conduct examinations for the recruitment of Group C posts.The cabinet also approved Mukhyamantri Laghu Dukandar Kalyan Yojna 2023.
The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog will replace the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission which was disbanded by the state government on the charges of gross irregularities and corruption.The Aayog will conduct recruitment exam for group C post of the state government,state public sector undertakings, boards, corporation ,local bodies etc.
The cabinet also approved the Mukhyamantri Laghu Dukandar Kalyan Yojna 2023. It allocated Rs 40 crore for the scheme.
Under the Mukhyamantri Laghu Dukandar Kalyan Yojna 2023 loans will be provided to the small entrepreneurs and skill-based workers like cobblers, tailors, barbers, mobile repairing vendors, vegetable and fruit vendors, etc.
The Cabinet also approved the amendment in the 2021 Swaran Jayanti Energy Policy to manage shortfall of energy during the lean period due to climatic, topographic and other associated reasons. The new provisions will encourage the installation of rooftop-based solar projects which will generate additional power.
Himachal Pradesh became a Union Territory in 1956 after the reorganisation of states in India .
It was granted statehood on 25th January 1971. It became the 18th state of India.
