Minister Ashwini Vaishnav launched 'Policy for States Platform' at Rang Bhawan Auditorium, New Delhi. NITI Aayog's 'NITI for States' platform is a cross-sectoral knowledge platform. Ashwini Vaishnav is currently the Union Minister for Communications, Railways and Electronics and Information Technology.
- It is designed to create digital public infrastructure (DPI) for policy and good governance.
Launch of ‘Viksit Bharat Strategy Room’:
- Before the launch of this platform, Ashwini Vaishnav also launched the ‘Viksit Bharat Strategy Room’ in NITI Aayog.
- This would enable rich visibility and engagement with insights, information and knowledge to enable personalized decision making.
Features of ‘NITI for States Platform’:
- Important features of the platform cover a number of topics. Which can be seen in the following points:
- A live repository of 7,500 best practices and 5,000 policy documents,
- Over 900 datasets,
- 1,400 data profiles and 350 policy publications.
- The platform covers agriculture, education, livelihood, manufacturing, MSMEs, tourism, urban, and water resources.
- It includes knowledge products from 10 areas including the World Health Organization's WASH strategy. Which are based on two cross-cutting topics ‘gender and climate change’.
- This platform has an intuitive and user-friendly interface. It allows users to navigate easily.
- Accessible via various devices, including mobile phones.
Benefits of NITI for States Platform:
- The ‘Policy for States Platform’ will provide robust, adaptive and actionable knowledge to facilitate the digital transformation of governance for government officials. Enhancing their decision-making process.
- It would benefit District Collectors by providing access to innovative best practices in different States and Union Territories. It will also benefit advanced level functionaries like block-level functionaries.
About ‘Viksit Bharat Strategy Room’:
- The ‘Viksit Bharat Strategy Room’ is an interactive space. Where users would be able to view data, trends, best practices and policies in an in-depth manner. This would allow them to make a holistic assessment of any problem.
- It allows the user to interact through voice-enabled AI and connect with multiple stakeholders through video conferencing.
- It has been designed as a plug-and-play model to enable replication by states, districts and blocks.
Other facts related to NITI for States Platform:
- Various government organizations have cooperated in this initiative of NITI Aayog.
- In this, iGOT Karmayogi is bringing an online training module called “Samarth” which can be accessed through the platform.
- NITI Aayog's National Data and Analytics Platform integrated for government dataset access.
- National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has provided support to develop the first of its kind Developing India Strategy Cell. While multilingual support is provided by Bhashini.
- The PM Gatishakti BISAG-N team in collaboration with DPIIT has also been integrated to provide geospatial tools for area based planning.
