SBI Clerk Prelims Exam 2021 Dates are now out!

SBI Clerk Prelims Exam 2021 will now be held on  July 10, 11, 12 and 13, 2021. The notification regarding this was released by SBI on 29th June 2021.

The SBI clerk mains examination will be held on July 31, 2021

The exam materials are available now on the official website. It is to be noted that the recruitment of candidates applying from Ladakh, Leh, and Kargil Valley, under special drive, has been kept in abeyance until further rnotice.

SBI Clerk Prelims – About the exam

The SBI Clerk Exam conducted by the State Bank of India recruits for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales). The candidates are usually posted as Cashiers, Depositors, etc. The responsibility of the Junior Associate post comprises client interactions and related operations.

Every year a large number of candidates yearn for this opportunity. The exam is conducted online across various cities spread throughout the country. The selection process is conducted in two stages namely the Preliminary and Mains exam. The final selection of candidates is done based on the candidates’ performance in the Mains exam. The selected candidates are also required to pass a local language test before joining.

SBI Clerk Application Form & Fees:

SBI has made the link to register for the SBI Clerk exam 2021 available on their official website.

The application process is completely online and the last date of application has been declared to be May 20, 2021.

For the General and OBC categories the application fee is Rs. 750.

The exam fee for SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS candidates were exempted.

Eligibility Criteria of SBI Clerk 2021

To be eligible to sit for the SBI Clerk 2021 exam, the candidate needs to fulfil the following criteria-

Educational Qualification:

  • The candidate needs to have a minimum qualification graduation/ bachelor’s degree to be able to apply for SBI Clerk exam 2021
  • Candidates having an integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate can also apply for the exam, subject to passing IDD
  • Final year students are also eligible to apply

Age Limit:

The aspiring candidates should be a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 28 years in age as of April 1, 2021.
Age relaxation can be claimed by candidates belonging to the reserved categories. It’s worth noting here that such candidates will have to submit copies of necessary documents at the time of joining to verify their claim.

  • Candidates working in SBI in clerical or officer cadre

The complete recruitment process of SBI Clerk 2021 for the post of Junior Associate has been explained below-

Filling SBI Clerk Application Form:

Aspiring candidates can fill the SBI Clerk application form following the step by step process as mentioned below-

Step 2: Select ‘Click here for new registration’ tab 

Step 3: Fill in the required details such as name, mobile number, email ID, etc.

Step 4: Registration number and password are generated

Step 5: Upload the scanned images of the photograph and signature

Step 6: Enter personal details, work experience, educational qualification, etc.

Step 7: Preview the application form and submit the details

Step 8: Pay the registration fees

Step 9: Take a printout of the application form and E-receipt

Release of admit card:

The Admit card for SBI Clerk Prelims and Mains exam are released online separately. Candidates can download their admit cards from the website itself. Or they can directly download their Admit cards through the link sent to their registered email id and phone number. Candidates are required to enter their registration number or roll number and date of birth or password at the time of downloading their admit cards.

Appearing in SBI Clerk Preliminary exam:

The first stage of the SBI Clerk exam is the Preliminary exam. The candidates are required to qualify for this exam to be able to appear for the SBI Clerk Mains exam. The number of selected candidates for the mains exam is 10 times the number of vacancies.

It is an hour-long exam where candidates are given 100 objective-type questions. The total mark of the exam is 100. While the total mark for the Mains exam, comprising four sections, is 200.

Candidates are required to score minimum percentage marks on average. It is worthy to mention here that there is a 5 percent relaxation on marks for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates. The merit list will be made state-wise and category-wise. To qualify, the candidates need to secure the required category-wise and state-wise SBI Clerk cut-off marks.

The placement of the candidates is done based on their marks scored in the Mains exam. They are placed in descending order as per their place in the merit list and their respective states and categories.

Declaration of result:

Both the SBI Clerk Prelims and Mains exam are released online followed by one after another. The results are made available on the SBI website.

Test of specified opted local language:

This test is taken only by candidates qualifying for the SBI Clerk Mains exams. Before joining the candidate needs to sit for the test of their local language selected at the time of applying. Candidates need to qualify for the language test to move forward in the selection process.
The local language test is compulsory for everyone except candidates who have studied the specified local language in Class 10 and 12.

Final Selection:

The Merit List for the selection is made based on the marks obtained in the SBI Clerk Mains exam. The marks obtained in the Preliminary exams are not taken into account at this stage. The final selection depends on the result of the exam for the local language test and document verification.

SBI Clerk 2021 Vacancy:

The SBI Clerk notification has been published on the official website along with the notification specifying the vacancies for different states. It includes both regular and backlog vacancies. As per the notification, the special recruitment drive will be conducted in Chandigarh and the North-Eastern region.

The notification specifies more than 5000 vacancies for the post of Junior Associate, out of which a total of 2151 vacancies are for General Category, 488 are for EWS, 726 are for SC, 440 are for ST and 1195 are for OBC.

SBI Clerk Salary:

The salary of SBI Clerk 2021 has been revised. The details of salary are as follows-

Pay Scale: Earlier, the starting basic pay was Rs 13,075 (Rs 11,765 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).

The pay scale is now revised as Rs.17900. The starting basic pay is Rs. 19,900 (Rs. 17,900 plus two increments to graduates).

Emoluments: Rs.29,000 per month inclusive of DA (in metro cities). Other allowances and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate junior associates.

Benefits: Medical leave, Provident Fund, New Pension Scheme, etc.

SBI Clerk Exam Centres 2021:

  • Candidates are required to bring SBI Clerk to admit card 2021 to the examination center
  • Candidates need to carry one photo identity proof such as Passport/Aadhaar/PAN Card/Driving Licence/Voter’s Card/Bank Passbook with duly attested Photograph/Identity Card issued by School or College/Gazetted Officer 
  • Strict actions are taken against candidates found guilty of misconduct
  • Use of devices such as calculators, mobile phones, pagers, etc. are prohibited inside the examination center

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern:

SBI Clerk exam is held in two stages: preliminary and mains exam. The prelims exam comprises three sections: Numerical Ability, English Language, and Reasoning Ability. The total marks for the Prelims exam are 100. The mains exam comprises four sections: General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability, General/ Financial Awareness, and Computer Aptitude. The mains exam is held for a total of 200 marks.
