15% Change in the REET Pattern- Check the New Exam Pattern
The Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan conducts REET (Recruitment cum Eligibility Exam for Teacher) for the recruitment of teachers for classes I to VIII in government schools across Rajasthan. The conducting authority has recently released the application form for the exam on 11 January 2021. This release has been accompanied by a change in the paper pattern of the exam. In this article, we will be discussing all the changes made in the paper pattern along with the revised paper pattern for the examination.
Changes in the Paper Pattern
REET Level-I
In the first section of the question paper, questions in two languages (any two out of Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Sindhi, etc.) are asked in Child Development and Education, Volume II and III. There are no specific changes in these three sections except for one or two points. The fifth section of Level I has changed many points in the environmental curriculum. National Emblem in Environmental Studies, Districts of Rajasthan, handicraft, jewelry, heritage (fortifications, palaces, forts), paintings, locales, demigods, traffic signs, water properties, sources, management, artistic water sources, irrigation, and drinking water sources have been added. Additions have been made to the solar family of India, astronauts, mountaineering difficulties, tools, women climbers, and information and communication technology.
REET Level-II
Level II has seen an addition in science courses which include types of plants, sources of food, mechanics work, atmospheric pressure, rotational speed, thermometer, spherical mirrors and images, lenses and images, refraction of light, electrical current, electrical circuit, electrical thermal magnetic and chemical effects of currents, magnet and magnetism, plastics and environment, physical and chemical changes of matter, natural resources, environmental pollution and control, biodiversity, adaptation, waste management, farming practices, agricultural crops grown in Rajasthan, etc.
Jain and Buddhism in history, Mahajanapada period, history of major dynasties of Rajasthan, Rajasthan’s contribution to the revolution of 1857, integration of Rajasthan, prajamandal, tribal and peasant movement, prominent personality, art culture, in the syllabus for the candidates of social studies. Memorials, paintings, folk songs, folk dances, folk deities, folk saints, folk music, musical instruments, architecture, costumes, jewelry, languages, etc. have been included. The formulation and features of the Indian Constitution in the curriculum of political science, child rights, child protection, election and voter awareness in democracy, district administration and justice system etc.
Additions in Geography include latitude, longitude, earth movements, winds and winds, cyclones & cyclones, solar eclipses, Earth’s climate, environmental problems and solutions, India’s soil, minerals & human resources, Rajasthan’s climate, drainage systems, lakes, canals, River Valley Projects, Soil, Forest and Wildlife, Tourism, Insurance and Banking System in Economics, Reserve Bank of India, Cooperatives, Information and Communication Technology in Education.

- There is no negative marking applicable in REET Level-I and Level-II Exam.
- The candidates who wish to become a teacher for class I to V must appear in the Level-I exam.
- The candidates who wish to become a teacher for class VI to VIII must appear in the Level-II exam.
- Both the levels comprise of a total of 150 marks.
- The time duration for both the level is 2.5 hours or 150 minutes.
