The Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) conducts the Middle School Teacher Eligibility Test (MSTET) to recruit suitable candidates for middle school teacher posts in government and aided schools of Madhya Pradesh. This exam is commonly referred to as the MP TET Varg 2 exam. 

The online application form for the recruitment of middle school teachers was open from 30th of January to 13th of February 2023. The exams for middle school teaching posts were held from 3rd to 19th of May 2023. The MP TET varg 2 exam result was released on 4th of July 2023. 

Candidates who qualify this examination are eligible to be appointed as middle school teachers from class 6 to 8. The result of this exam has infinite validity. Therefore, those who qualify in this exam can apply for the teaching posts whenever vacant posts are announced. MP TET Varg 2 Eligibility Criteria

The MPPEB prescribes the eligibility conditions for the various posts of MP School Teachers depending on the type of teaching profile. Since the majority of applicants are interested in subject teaching posts, the eligibility conditions with regard to education provided in this article are for subject teachers. For detailed eligibility criteria of the different posts, candidates must check the official notification.

Age Limit

Candidates willing to be appointed as middle school teachers in MP government schools should be at least 21 years of age, as on 1st of January 2023.

The maximum age shall be determined as per the departmental rules.

Educational Qualification

The MP TET varg 2 exam is conducted separately for each subject. Candidates will have to select the subject from the available subject list. It is mandatory to possess the requisite qualification in the concerned subject. 

The MP Employee Selection Board has prescribed the following educational qualifications for subject teachers in the official rulebook for the MP TET varg 2 exam.

  • Graduate (bachelor's degree) in the related subject, with a two year Diploma in Elementary Education (or equivalent), Or
  • At least 50% marks in graduation in the concerned subject and one year B.Ed, Or
  • At least 45 percent marks in Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject, along with B.Ed., Or
  • At least 50% marks in Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a 4 year B.El.Ed. (Bachelor in Elementary Education ), Or
  • At least 50% marks in Higher Secondary or its equivalent with a 4 year Bachelor's degree (B.A.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.), Or
  • At least 50% marks in graduation in the concerned subject and one year B.Ed. (special education).

Note: Reserved categories, such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and disabled candidates will get a relaxation of up to 5 percent in the qualifying marks of the educational qualification.

On fulfillment of the above criteria, candidates can appear for MP MSTET Varg 2 exam scheduled by ESB and conducted by PEB. On passing this exam with minimum required marks, you will be eligible to be designated as a teacher based on selection board rules.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

The minimum marks required to pass the MP TET varg 2 have been declared as follows.

  • For SC/ ST/ OBC/ Disabled : 50 percent
  • For others : 60 percent 

In other words, the eligibility of a candidate to be appointed as a teacher in Madhya Pradesh is determined on the basis of age limit, educational qualifications and the MP TET Varg-2 examination.

MP TET Varg 2 Application Process 

Candidates willing to be recruited as middle school teachers in MP government schools could apply for the MP TET varg 2 exam 2023 from 30th of January to 13th of February.  

Candidates can apply online by following the steps given below : 

  • Go to the official website of the Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board https://esb.mp.gov.in/
  • From the home page, select the “Dashboard” menu option.
  • Find the “Middle and Primary School Teacher Eligibility Test - 2023” option in the table. 
  • Click on the “Online Form” link under this section. 
  • A login page will open. Fill in your details and register, if you are not already registered on the portal.
  • Your registration details will be sent to your contact number. Use these details to log in. 
  • Fill in the application form with the required details. 
  • Submit the form and download a copy of the submitted application for your reference.

MP TET Varg 2 Exam Pattern

  • A total of 150 Multiple Choice Questions will be asked in this exam.
  • Each question carries 1 mark, and the total marks of the exam will be 150.
  • The duration of the exam is 2:30 hours.
  • Initially, a provision for negative marking was made in the rulebook, but it was removed subsequently. Thus, there was no negative marking in the exam. .
  • There will be two parts of the question paper, Part-A and Part-B. Part-A will be common for all. In Part-B, candidates will have to choose any one subject.

MP TET Varg 2 Part – B

In Part-B, there will be 120 questions on the subject selected by the candidate, and the total marks will be 120. Out of the subjects given below, the candidate can appear only for the exam of the main subject of his/her graduation degree.

Difficulty Level of Questions 

Part A 

The difficulty level of the content of General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Reasoning and Numerical Ability, and Pedagogy in Part A of the question paper will be equivalent to the mental level of a student of Higher Secondary School level. The level of Hindi and English subjects will be equivalent to the Higher Secondary School Examination.

Part B 

The difficulty level of the Part B content of the question paper will be equivalent to graduation level. The questions in this question paper will be based on the content of the prevalent syllabus of class 9 and 10 of Madhya Pradesh state but their difficulty level and linkage will be of graduation level. The question paper will be based on conceptual problem solving and understanding of pedagogy.

MP TET Varg 2 Admit Card

MP ESB released the MP TET admit card for the Middle School Teacher Test on the official website on 27 April 2023. The admit card contains important information regarding the MP TET exam centre, shift and timings. It also validates the applicant’s candidature for the exam.

Candidates can download the admit card by following the steps given below : 

  • Go to the official website of the Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board https://esb.mp.gov.in/
  • From the home page, select the “Admit Card” menu option.
  • Click on the “Middle and Primary School Teacher Eligibility Test - 2023” link in the table. 
  • Read the instructions carefully and close the pop-up.
  • Log in using your application number, date of birth and select your subject. 
  • After solving the security question, click on Search
  • Your admit card will be displayed on the screen. 
  • Check all details on the admit card to confirm that they are correct. 
  • Download and take out a print of the admit card to carry to the MP TET exam centre. 

MP TET Varg 2 Result 2023 

MP ESB released the MP TET Varg 2 result for the Middle School Teacher Test on the official website on 4 July 2023. Along with that, the MP TET varg 2 merit list was also issued soon after the result. 

Candidates can download their MP TET result by following the steps given below : 

  • Go to the official website of the Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board https://esb.mp.gov.in/
  • From the home page, select the “Results” menu option.
  • Click on the “Middle and Primary School Teacher Eligibility Test - 2023” link in the table. 
  • Log in using your application number/ roll number, date of birth and the 9 digit TAC code mentioned on your admit card. 
  • After solving the security question, click on Search.
  • Your result will be displayed on the screen. 
  • Save and download a copy of your result card. 

Salary Details for MP Middle School Teachers 

The salary for different posts is decided by the respective departments. Candidates can check the post-wise salary details from the official rulebook. 

The salary for middle school teachers as defined in the official rulebook is Rs. 32,800 (plus dearness allowance). 

FAQ

Madhya Pradesh Middle School Teacher Eligibility Test is an examination conducted by MPPEB to check the eligibility of candidates to become Secondary School Teacher in government and aided schools of Madhya Pradesh.

The minimum salary for Madhya Pradesh Secondary teachers is around Rs.32800 + DA.

The minimum age limit for MP MS TET has been kept at 21 years, calculated as on 1st of January 2023.

On the basis of their educational qualifications, candidates can fill the option of appearing in the eligibility test for more than one subject. The exam fee will be payable separately for each post.

No. Although the provision of negative marking was made in the original rulebook, it was later removed through a formal notification (dated 16.02.2023).
