69th BPSC Notification 2023 released: Apply from 15th July

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued the 69th BPSC CCE exam notification on 27 June 2023. According to the said notification, out of total 346 posts, 235 posts will be recruited through the 69th Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination and 111 posts will be recruited through Child Development Project Officer, Financial Administrative Officer and equivalent and Police Vice President (Tech.).

According to the examination calendar issued earlier by the Commission, the preliminary examination is to be conducted on 30 September 2023. This article provides all the information which is necessary to know before applying for the BPSC PCS/CCE.

BPSC Combined (Preliminary) Exam Notification

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) conducts this exam every year to select eligible candidates for posts in the General Administrative Department in the state of Bihar. Through this examination, appointments are made to different services/cadres which come under the General Administrative Department such as Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Director, Revenue Officer, Commercial Tax Officer, Election Officer, Bihar Superintendent of Police, Welfare Officer, etc.

The BPSC 69th Exam will be conducted in three phases, i.e. Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Interview. The Pre exam is a screening test and the candidates who clear the Prelims can give the Mains exam in the next stage.

69th BPSC 2023 Eligibility Criteria

If you want to apply for 69th BPSC Combined Competitive Exam, you must first fulfill the eligibility criteria requirements. The following information will help you determine your eligibility for BPSC Vacancies under the 69th CCE :

A. Nationality

It is mandatory for a candidate to be an Indian citizen to be eligible to apply for these posts. 

B. Age Limit (as on 01.08.2023)

The BPSC has prescribed different age requirements for the various advertised posts. The minimum age of applicants as on 1st August 2023 should be 20 years/ 21 years/ 22 years (depending on the post). Refer to the official BPSC notification for details.

The Maximum age of candidates on 01.08.2023 shall be as under :

C. Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess the following educational qualification in the relevant field :

Any one of these subjects will have to be selected for the mains examination.

Financial Administrative Officer and equivalent

Bachelor's degree in any one of the subjects of Commerce, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics from a recognized University or its affiliated institution.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Tech.)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute, in any one of the following subjects :

(1) Electronics &. communication Engineering

(2) Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

(3) Information Technology 

(4) Electrical and Electronics Engineering 

(5) Instrumentation and Communication Engineering

(6) Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics Communication

 

Minimum qualifying marks are fifty percent (50%) marks.

For the members of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, this pass percentage shall be forty-five percent (45%).

How to apply for BPSC 69th Combined Exam

For BPSC 69th Combined Competitive Examination, candidates can apply from July 15 on the official website of the commission. Follow the instructions given below to apply for this exam (after the official link is activated):

  • Firstly, visit the official website of BPSC.

  • Click on the button “APPLY ONLINE FOR BPSC 69th COMBINED COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION” given on the home page.

  • If you are new to the portal, first register yourself by filling necessary information like your name, date of birth, father's/mother's name, mobile number, e-mail ID etc.

  • After registering, login with the registration number and password sent to your email ID and mobile number.

  • Now fill all the required details along with your qualification details in the application form.

  • Pay the prescribed online application fee as per your category and submit the application after verifying all the details carefully.

  • Finally download your application form and take a copy of it for future reference.

  • Candidates will have to pay Rs. 200 as Biometric fee for each exam and category wise fee given in the above table.

BPSC 69th Combined Exam Selection Process

The examination will be held in the following three phases: 

  • Preliminary Examination: 

In this test, candidates will have to choose one option for every multiple choice question. This examination will be just a screening test, on the basis of which the candidates will be selected for the main examination. The question paper will be in both Hindi and English languages.

  • Main Exam: 

Successful candidates of Preliminary Competitive Examination will have to fill separate application form for the Main Examination. The optional subjects for different posts of the combined Main (written) examination will be different, out of which the candidate will have to choose any one. The question paper will be in both Hindi and English languages.

  • Personality Test: 

There will be a Personality Test (Interview) of 120 marks for the successful candidates of the Mains Examination . 

Note : Candidates have to clear both the written tests and only then they will be called to appear in the interview for final selection.

Preliminary Examination

  • The BPSC 69th Preliminary Exam will be of qualifying nature only.

  • All the questions will be objective type multiple choice.

  • BPSC 69th Prelims Exam will have only General Studies subject which will have 150 questions for 150 marks.

  • There will be a negative marking for wrong answers in the exam.

  • The duration of the BPSC Prelims exam is 2 hours.

69th BPSC CCE Prelims Syllabus

Compulsory Subject - General Studies

The General Studies paper will consist of the following topics from General Studies:- 

- General Science Current events of national and international importance.

- History of India and salient features of the History of Bihar. 

- Major changes in Indian politics and economy and the economy of Bihar in the post-independence period. 

- Questions on Indian National Movement and the role played by Bihar in it and also on general mental ability. 

- General geography and geographical division of Bihar and its major river systems.

69th BPSC Mains Exam Syllabus

Compulsory Paper – General Hindi

The questions in this question paper will be of secondary level of Bihar School Examination Board. Through this examination, the ability of the candidate to express his/her feelings clearly and in a pure form in simple Hindi and the intuitive power will be tested.

69th BPSC CCE Exam Admit Card

Candidates will be able to download their admit cards 9-10 days prior to the scheduled date of examination, from the official website of the Commission. 

Once the admit card is made available by the BPSC, follow these steps to download your admit card :

  • Visit the official website of BPSC.

  • Click on the “BPSC Admit Card” link given under Important Announcements.

  • Log in by entering your registered details, your registration ID and password.

  • Your BPSC Admit Card will appear on your screen. 

  • Now download it and take a printout for future use. 

69th BPSC CCE Salary
