Education minister D Pradhan launches Comic Book "Let's Move Forward"

Union Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, launched a novel comic book titled ‘Let’s Move Forward’ at a function held in New Delhi on 29 August 2023.
This comic book has been jointly developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and UNESCO New Delhi. The Comic book has been designed keeping in mind the goals of the School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP).
School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP)
- The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and NCERT(National Council of Educational Research and Training) with technical guidance from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) launched the School Health and Wellness Programme in February 2020.
- This comprehensive programme aims to reach 260 million schoolchildren and their families by 2030 with school-based health and nutrition interventions.
- It has been incorporated as a part of the Health and Wellness component of the Ayushman Bharat Programme of the Government of India.
- The aim of the programme was started with the objective of providing age-appropriate information about health and nutrition to the children in schools and promoting healthy behaviors among the children that they will inculcate for life.
Let's Move Forward Comic
The "Let’s Move Forward" comic book is designed to cater to the diverse requirements of adolescents and encapsulates crucial information pertaining to the 11 thematic components of the School Health and Wellness Programme.
These encompass a comprehensive range of subjects, including emotional well-being, interpersonal relationships, gender equality, nutrition and health, substance abuse prevention, healthy lifestyles, reproductive health, internet safety, and more.
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT)
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organisation set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education.
It is under the Union Ministry of Education.
