PM Modi will participate in 'Bharat Shakti' war game in Pokhran

The three forces of India are going to conduct the biggest exercise 'Bharat-Shakti' in Asia's largest field firing range located in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. PM Narendra Modi can also come to Pokhran on 12 March 2024 to see this show of strength of the Indian Army.

Indian Forces will showcase the country's combined capabilities:

Bharat Shakti is a significant tri-Service exercise showcasing firepower by the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
In the exercise named Bharat-Shakti at Pokhran Field Firing Range, the three Indian Services will showcase the capability of indigenously manufactured weapons.
Only indigenously developed weapon platforms and systems will be included in this exercise.
Top officers of the three forces including CDS General Anil Chauhan will participate in the exercise, which will be held on March 12 in Pokhran.
The concept of self-reliant India will be seen during this exercise.

Army will show capability of indigenous weapons in maneuvers:

In this exercise, PM Modi can ask the military leadership to develop a strategy-based revolution in military affairs which should include India, Indian geography and the strategy to deal with its security threats.
In this exercise named 'Bharat Shakti', defense platforms and network based systems developed in India will be tested.
This exercise will also reveal the capability of indigenous weapons.

These weapons will be included in the 'Bharat Shakti' exercise:

Major indigenous equipment will be included in the 'Bharat Shakti' exercise to be held in Pokhran. Mainly among these
- Tejas fighter plane
- K-9 artillery gun
- indigenous drone
- Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launchers
- Short range missile.

Highlights of 'Bharat Shakti' exercise:

The capability of indigenous communication and network will be tested in this Bharat-Shakti exercise. With this, it can be ascertained whether the enemy country can hack them in case of war or not.
Along with this, all three armies will get an opportunity to work together in the 'Bharat Shakti' exercise. Generally the three armies work in different ways.

Emphasis on indigenization of army:

Now the Indian Army has become 100 percent indigenous. The Indian Government is now emphasizing on indigenizing the Indian Navy and Air Force also.
The Central Government aims to utilize indigenous technology in submarine construction and aircraft engine manufacturing.
At present the government has to depend on foreign countries for aircraft engines or the best fighter planes. But in the future the country is moving towards achieving self-reliance in this direction.
