Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the 103 railway stations in 18 states/Union Territories, developed under the Indian Railways’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, at a function in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on 22 May 2025.

The Rajasthan Chief Minister, Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Law Minister, attended the function.

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated, laid the foundation stone, and dedicated multiple development projects worth  Rs 26,000 crore to the nation during his visit to Bikaner on 22 May 2025.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed at Nal airport, which Pakistan targeted during the recent conflict. The Nal airport is a civilian enclave within the Indian Air Force base in Bikaner.

Inaugurated 103 Amrit Stations

The Indian Railway’s 103 railway stations, inaugurated by the Prime Minister, are in 86 districts across 18 states and Union Territories.

Here is the list.

  • Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry- one each
  • Bihar and Kerala -2 each,
  • Jharkhand, Telangana and West Bengal - 3 each,
  • Karnataka and Chhattisgarh -5 each,
  • Madhya Pradesh -6
  • Rajasthan -8,
  • Tamil Nadu - 9,
  • Maharashtra - 15
  • Gujarat -18,
  • Uttar Pradesh -19

These stations have been developed at a cost of over Rs 1,100 crore.

These stations are part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme of the Indian Railways.

About the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme 

The Ministry of Railways launched the Scheme in December 2022. 

  • The scheme aims to modernise the railway infrastructure and transform over 1,300 stations into modern hubs with multimodal integration and future-ready facilities. 
  • Every station is being developed with modern infrastructure and a touch of the local culture and architecture.
  • The focus is on developing modern amenities for the convenience of passengers.
  • Special care has been taken to meet the needs of the Divyangjans.
  • The Railways' One Product, One Station Scheme has also been included in the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
  • Under the one product on station scheme, outlets at railway stations showcase indigenous/local products, giving them high visibility and boosting sales.
