Pankaj Advani won the 2025 CCI Billiards Classic title, defeating Dhruv Sitwala 5-2 in the final.
It was the third CCI Billiards title for Pankaj Advani, who has won 28 World Championships in cue sports- billiards, snooker, and pool.
- The CCI Billiards Classic 2025 was held at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai from 25 April to 4 May 2025.
- The winner of the CCI Billiards title, Pankaj Advani, received Rs 2.5 lakhs, while Dhur Sitwala received Rs 1.5 lakhs.
Table Tennis players Ankur Bhattacharjee & Abhinandh win U19 boys doubles title
The Indian table tennis pair of Ankur Bhattacharjee and Abhinandh Pradhavadhi won the U19 boys doubles title at the WTT Youth Star Contender in Bangkok, Thailand.
- In the final, they defeated the South Korean pair of Lee Jungmok and Choi Jiwook 3-1.
- The USD 15,000 prize money WTT Youth Star Contender was held in Bangkok from 2-4 May 2025.
- The event was organised by World Table Tennis (WTT), the commercial and event company of the International Table Tennis Federation(ITTF).
- The Lausanne, Switzerland-based ITTF is the sports world governing body.
World Athletics Relay 2025
The Indian men’s and mixed 4x400 meters teams failed to qualify for the upcoming World Athletics Championship, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan, in September 2025.
- A qualification event called World Athletics Relays 2025 was held in Guangzhou, China, to select the relay teams for the forthcoming World Athletics Championship.
- India participated in the men’s and mixed 4x400m team events but failed to qualify for the Tokyo event.
- In the mixed 4x400 meter relay race, Vishal TK, T Santhosh, Rupal, and Subha Venkatesan finished fourth in the heat and failed to qualify for the Tokyo event.
- In the men’s 4x400 meter relay race, the quartet of Dharmveer Choudhary, Jay Kumar, Rince Joseph and Manu Thekkinalil Saji finished seventh to be knocked out of the qualification race.
- The World Athletics Relays 2025 was held in Guangzhou, China, on 10 and 11th of May 2025.
India fails to win a medal in the Asian Weightlifting Championship 2025
The two-member Indian weightlifting contingent returned empty-handed from the 2025 Asian Senior Weightlifting Championship.
- Dilbag Singh, who competed in the 96 kg division, finished 9th, while Seram Nirupama Devi, who competed in the women’s 64 kg division, finished fourth.
- The 2025 Asian Senior Weightlifting Championship was organised by the Asian Weightlifting Federation at Jingshan, China, from 9-15 May 2025.
- The Doha, Qatar-based Asian Weightlifting Federation is the games' governing body in Asia.
