The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has published the annual report on 'Road Accidents in India-2022' in October 2023.

The report emphasizes the urgency to adopt a comprehensive approach to address the factors contributing to these accidents, primarily
- Speeding and careless driving,

- Including non-compliance with traffic rules.
