NEET PG Notification 2025: Check Eligibility Criteria & Exam Details

NEET PG Notification 2025 was issued on 17 April 2025 by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The NEET PG 2025 Application Window was open from 17 April 2025 to 07 May 2025. Interested candidates filled out the NEET PG Application Form 2025. Each candidate was permitted to submit only one NEET-PG 2025 application form. If a candidate is found to have submitted multiple applications, NBEMS reserves the right to issue the admit card only for the application with the highest application ID, while the remaining applications may be cancelled and their fees forfeited.

What is NEET PG?

NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate) is a nationwide entrance exam for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in India. It is the only valid exam for these programs—no separate state or institute-level exams are accepted.

Conducted by NBEMS (National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences), NEET-PG is also mandatory for foreign nationals who wish to pursue postgraduate medical education in India.

For the 2025-26 academic session, NEET-PG 2025 will also serve as the entrance exam for Post MBBS DNB, 6-year DrNB, and NBEMS diploma courses. NBEMS is responsible for conducting the exam, announcing the results, and sharing the scores with the relevant counseling authorities.

NEET PG Schedule 2025  

NEET PG Exam Date 2025 was announced through the notice issued on 7 June 2025. The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test - PG for admission to various courses in the 2025-26 academic session is scheduled to take place on 3 August 2025. NEET PG will be conducted in a single shift from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Exam city details will be available from  21 July 2025 through the official website of the NBEMS.  

NEET PG Revised Exam City 

Recently, on 7 June 2025, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), New Delhi, issued a notice regarding the NEET PG Exam City Modification Window 2025. To ensure that all candidates can appear for the exam in a single session, NBEMS has decided to reopen the exam city modification window. In addition to the cities already mentioned in the information bulletin, more exam centres have been added for the convenience of the candidates. The NEET PG Application Window for choosing the exam city was open from 13 to 17 June 2025. Candidates were required to resubmit their preferred exam city by visiting the official website of the NBEMS.

Nationality

Indian, Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Non OCI Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in the NEET PG 2025.

Age Limit

The NEET PG 2025 exam does not have any maximum age limit for candidates.

Educational Qualification

Candidates who want to apply for the NEET PG 2025 should meet the following educational qualifications mentioned in the NEET PG Notification 2025:-

Indian Medical Graduates

Candidates who have completed their MBBS from India must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an MBBS degree or a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate that is recognized under the NMC Act, 2019 and the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023.
  • Possess a Permanent or Provisional registration certificate for their MBBS qualification issued by the NMC, the former Medical Council of India, or a State Medical Council.
  • Have completed their one-year mandatory internship or are expected to complete it on or before 31st July 2025.

Foreign Medical Graduates

Eligibility for Indian Citizens/OCI with Foreign Medical Qualifications:

  • Must have obtained their Primary Medical Qualification from a medical college outside India.
  • Must have qualified the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), also known as the Screening Test, as per Screening Test Regulations, 2002.
  • FMGE is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
  • Must be registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC), the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI), or a State Medical Council.
  • Must have completed their internship or be likely to complete it on or before 31st July 2025.

Foreign Nationals

Foreign nationals applying for NEET-PG must ensure that their basic medical qualification, equivalent to MBBS, is recognized by the NMC. Those requiring security clearance, as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines, must obtain it from the MHA before applying and submit it with their application.

The NMC may grant temporary registration—limited to the duration and location of the postgraduate course—upon payment of the prescribed fee. This is allowed only if the candidate is:

  • Enrolled with the appropriate medical council or authority in their country of origin.
  • The qualification is recognized by that authority, and
  • They have obtained a Permission or No Objection Certificate from their home country’s medical council to pursue postgraduate studies in India.

NEET PG Application Process

NEET PG Application Form 2025 was available on the official website of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) till 7 May 2025. Once submitted, application forms cannot be withdrawn. Candidates can follow the below provided steps to fill out the NEET PG Application Form 2025:-

Step 1: Visit the official website of NBE.

Step 2: Click on the “NEET PG” section, then select “New Registration” and create your login by entering your email ID, mobile number, and a password.

Step 3: After successful registration, your login credentials will be sent to your registered email address and mobile number.

Step 4: Log in and carefully complete the application form with accurate information.

Step 5: Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.

Step 6: Make the payment for the application fee through the available payment options.

Step 7: After submission, download and print a copy of the filled NEET PG application form for future reference.

Application Fees 

NEET PG Application Fee 2025 is required to be submitted by the candidates to complete the application process. The exam fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances; it cannot be adjusted or carried forward to another session. Candidates must pay the prescribed fee through the payment gateway provided on the application portal using UPI, credit/debit cards issued by Indian banks, or any other approved payment methods.

NEET PG Exam Pattern

NEET PG Exam Pattern 2025 has been detailed in the NEET PG Notification. Candidates who are planning to appear in the NEET PG 2025 should be familiar with the NEET Exam Pattern 2025. In this section, we are detailing the NEET PG Exam Pattern 2025 for your reference:-

  1. NEET PG will be conducted in Computer-Based Mode (CBT).
  2. The examination will comprise 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  3. +4 marks will be given for every correct answer and -1 mark for every incorrect answer.
  4. The paper will be divided into five sections: Group A, B, C, D, and E
  5. Each section will contain 40 questions based on the MBBS curriculum.
  6. The total exam duration will be 3 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates will get 42 minutes for each section.
  7. Once the time for a section is over, candidates will automatically move to the next section. They cannot return to the previous one.

NEET PG 2025 Admit Card

NEET PG Admit Card 2025 will be issued by the NBEMS on 31 July 2025. Admit cards will not be issued to candidates found ineligible before the conduct of the examination. NEET PG Admit Card will contain all the required details such as exam date, exam time, exam centre, candidates' details etc that candidates must know before applying for the exam. Candidates are required to download the NEET PG Admit Card to appear in the exam.

Candidates can follow the steps to obtain the NEET PG Admit Card 2025:-

Step 1: Go to the official website of the National Board of Examinations (NBE). 

Step 2: Navigate to the “NEET PG” section and click on the link for “NEET PG Admit Card.”

Step 3: Log in using your registered username/ID and password to access the admit card.

Step 4: Once logged in, the NEET PG 2025 admit card will appear on your screen.

Step 5: Download and print a copy of the admit card for use during the examination and counseling process.

NEET PG Result 2025 

NEET PG Result 2025 is expected to be declared in September 2025. The NEET-PG 2025 result will be valid only for the 2025-26 admission session for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses and cannot be used for admission in any future session. The admission process for these courses is governed by the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023, issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) with prior approval from the Central Government, and is subject to rulings by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

Candidates must keep their NEET-PG 2025 scorecard and admit card safe, as these documents will be required during the counseling process for admission to postgraduate courses under their respective categories. NEET PG 2025 Exam Cut-off

NEET PG Cut-off Marks 2025 will be announced by the NBEMS on the official website. Raw marks obtained by candidates shall be normalized to obtain normalized marks.
