‘World Homeopathy Day’ (WHD) is celebrated every year on 10 April. This day is celebrated in honour of the father of homeopathy, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, on his birth anniversary. On this occasion, people are attracted towards the homeopathy system of medicine.
Theme of World Homeopathy Day 2024:
- Each year, this day is commemorated with a unique theme. The theme of WHD for this year 2024 is – “Homeoparivar: One Health, One Family”.
- Whereas last year in 2023, the theme of this day was – ‘Homeopathy: People’s Choice for Wellness’.
History of World Homeopathy Day 2024:
- 'WHD' is observed annually on 10 April in honor of the renowned German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann's birth anniversary. This German physician is also considered the founder of homeopathy.
- Homeopathy gained prominence in the 19th century due to the notable success achieved by the German physician and chemist Samuel Hahnemann (1755–1843).
- But the origins of homeopathy date back to the 5th century BC. Hahnemann was against those medical methods and medicines which had side effects on the body. This thinking of Hahnemann discovered something in the field of medicine, which earned him recognition as the founder of homeopathy.
‘World Homeopathy Day’ organized in India:
- On this occasion in India, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a two-day scientific conference and homeopathic symposium on ‘WHD’ on 10 April 2024. This Homeopathic Seminar is being organized at Yashobhoomi Conventional Center Dwarka, New Delhi.
- Many dignitaries from India are participating in this seminar. Apart from these, 8 representatives from Netherlands, Spain, Colombia, Canada and Bangladesh are also participating in this seminar.
- It is being organized by the ‘Central Council for Research in Homeopathy’ (CCRH), an autonomous apex research organization under the Ministry of AYUSH.
Homeopathic Seminar Theme :
- The theme of this conference is “Empowering Research, Enhancing Proficiency: A Homeopathic Symposium”.
Objective of the conference:
- This conference is being organized in India for many purposes. These objectives mainly include the following:
- Promoting evidence-based scientific treatments in clinical practice and health programs
- Empowering the homeopathic community in research-based therapeutics
- To be a health care center that meets people's needs for personalized, safe and reliable health care.
- Quality diagnosis for better treatment
- Enriching homeopathic medicine with therapeutics and scientific tools
