The first indigenously manufactured engine for the Army's main battle tanks was successfully tested at BEML Mysuru on 20 March 2024. The capacity of this engine is 1500 horsepower. The Defence Ministry has called it the beginning of a new era. This test was conducted under the chairmanship of Defence Secretary Giridhar Armane.
