The government of Uttar Pradesh is planning to establish 'Digital Doctor Clinics' in rural areas to provide better healthcare facilities in the state's remote regions.

About Digital Doctor Clinic

These clinics will work as primary health centres, where doctors can be consulted through online video conferences. Additionally, medications and laboratory facilities will also be available.
The Digital Doctor Clinic is being tested as a pilot project and is expected to open soon in 20 centres across Lucknow and Bulandshahr. After successful completion of the pilot project, it will be extended to the entire state.
The state government aims to improve healthcare accessibility in remote rural areas through private investments. This initiative will provide medical consultations, medications, and pathology testing at concessional rates for serious illnesses.
The government has signed an MoU of Rs 350 crore with Obdu Group for this project. The Obdu Group will establish this project even before the Ground Breaking Ceremony.

Features of Digital Doctor Clinic

Digital Doctor Clinic is a primary healthcare centre offering both telemedicine branches, i.e., consultation and speciality centres.
It aims to improve rural healthcare by providing online video conferencing and a well-trained healthcare assistant who will care for the patient and facilitate communication between the doctor and the patient.
With blockchain and artificial intelligence technology, the best MBBS doctors can reach patients in villages and remote rural areas through technology and provide the right treatment and necessary medications.
All types of medicines will be made available to the patients during their treatment at the Digital Doctor Clinic itself at very affordable prices. Additionally, blood tests will be conducted in 3 to 5 minutes during the consultation, costing only Rs 30 to 40. This test includes various fever profiles such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, liver function, jaundice, sugar, etc.
Furthermore, keeping the income of people in rural and remote areas in mind, selected Digital Doctor Clinics will also offer ultrasound services at a cost ranging from Rs 200 to 300.
Each Digital Doctor Clinic will have a healthcare assistant to help patients log in to the Digital Doctor clinic using their mobile phones. After that, based on the patient's illness, they will connect the patient to the best MBBS doctor through an online video conference.
