President Murmu inaugurated 'Unmesh' and 'Utkarsh' festival in Bhopal

On August 3, 2023, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the National Festival of Folk and Tribal Expressions of India called "Utkarsh" and the International Literature Festival known as "Unmesh" in Bhopal.

The event is being jointly organized by the Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh, Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Sahitya Akademi of the Union Ministry of Culture from August 3 to 5.

• In her speech, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized that progress should encompass the progress of all, including tribal groups, as it contributes to the advancement of the entire nation. She urged everyone to take responsibility for preserving tribal traditions, languages, and cultures.

• During the Unmesh Utsav, various activities are being held, including a conference for tribal poet-writers, poetry recitations centered around 'Bharat at Seventy,' and sessions showcasing songs from Madhya Pradesh.

• Unmesh and Utkarsh serve as a platform to connect and celebrate the diverse cultural traditions of India.
