Kochi city of Kerala has won the City with the Most Sustainable Transport System award at the 17th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Exhibition 2024. The award winners in the various categories were felicitated at the 17th Urban Mobility Conference and Exhibition held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on 27 October 2024.
The valedictory session of the 17th Urban Mobility India Conference & Exhibition 2024
was addressed by the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar.
At the 17th Urban Mobility India Conference and Exhibition, companies/institutions in the urban transport business from India and abroad participated. Around 2200 delegates, including more than 50 from abroad, showcased their latest urban transport technologies at the conference.
The Urban Mobility India Conference & Exhibition 2024 was organised by the Institute of Urban Transport (India) under the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in partnership with the Gujarat government and the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
It was held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from 25-27 October 2024.
The 17th Urban Mobility India Conference & Exhibition 2024 theme was "Standardisation and Optimisation of Urban Transport Solutions”.
Since 2008, the Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Affairs has been organising the annual Urban Mobility India Conference and Exhibition. The Conference seeks to bring together the government, companies, and other stakeholders of the urban transport system to devise a modern, eco-friendly, and efficient urban transport system.
The Urban Mobility India Conference and Exhibition are held in different cities of India.
New Delhi hosted the 16th Urban Mobility Conference and Exhibition in 2023.
The 18th Urban Mobility India Conference and Exhibition will be held in Gurugram, Haryana, in 2025.
The Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Affairs has instituted awards in various categories for the State/Union Territory’s urban public transport authorities.
