The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a meeting held in New Delhi on 28 August 2024, has approved the development of 12 new projects in the country's 6 major Industrial Corridors. These projects included the development of industrial nodes and smart cities along the industrial corridors.
With this approval, the total number of projects to be developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) is 44.
The 12 newly approved projects will be set up in 10 states along the 6 major Industrial Corridors, with an estimated investment of Rs 28,602 crore.
The newly approved projects are - two in Andhra Pradesh ( Orvakal and Kopparthy) and two in Uttar Pradesh (Agra and Prayagraj).
One each in Uttrakhand ( Khurpia), Punjab (Rajpura-Patiala), Maharashtra (Dighi ), Kerala (Palakkad), Bihar (Gaya), Telangana(Zaheerabad) and Rajasthan (Jodhpur-Pali).

Under the ambitious National Infrastructure Pipeline, 11 Industrial Corridors, with 44 industrial nodes/areas/smart cities, are being developed in four phases.

The government of India launched the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) in 2019. It aims to attract Rs 111 lakh crore investment in the infrastructure during FY20-25 so as to build high-quality infrastructure across the country.
