27th National Youth Festival will be held at Nashik in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 27th National Youth Festival at Nashik in Maharashtra and address the youth of the nation.

The festival has the theme of "MYBharat-ViksitBharat@2047- By the Youth, For the Youth." During the celebration, various states will showcase cultural programmes of their diverse cultural heritage.

About National Youth Festival

The National Youth Festival began in 1995 as a major activity under the National Integration Camp (NIC) programme.
Every year, the Government of India conducts this programme in collaboration with one of the States and institutions like Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and the National Service Scheme (NSS).
The National Youth Festival is an annual event that brings together young people for various activities, including competitions.
Celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda, it is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with one of the State Governments.
Thus, it is held in a different state each year during National Youth Week, which is from 12 to 16 January every year.
Swami Vivekananda's birthday is celebrated on January 12 every year as National Youth Day.
The following week is known as National Youth Week in India. As a part of the celebrations, the Indian Government organises the National Youth Festival annually.
This event aims to propagate the concept of national integration, the spirit of communal harmony, brotherhood, courage and adventure amongst the youth by exhibiting their cultural prowess in a common platform.
This is achieved by organising nationwide gatherings of young people and motivating them to participate in various activities.
The festival features various cultural events, including competitions, exhibitions, martial arts, intellectual discourses, young artists camps, seminars and adventure programs. Additionally, the National Youth Awards are presented.
