The UPSC Engineering Services Main (Written) Examination 2023 was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on 25 June 2023. Document Required to Fill After IES Result: DAF

Following the announcement of the ESE (Main) result 2023, the shortlisted candidates must complete the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for the interview round. Candidates who have been declared successful must first register on the online application portal of UPSC before filling out the ONLINE DAF and submitting it ONLINE, along with uploading scanned copies of relevant certificates/documents in support of their eligibility, the claim for reservation and so on. 

Steps to Fill DAF

Candidates declared qualified in the written Examinations must first register before completing the Online Detailed Application Form (DAF).

• Click on the Registration link and fill out your information, including your name (as it appears on your matriculation/secondary examination certificate), roll number (in six-digit), date of birth, and e-mail address.

• After clicking the submit button, candidates will see a message on their screen stating their name and e-mail address, and a password will be sent to the candidate's e-mail address.

• Now, return to the website and log in to the login module using Roll Number (six-digit numbers) and password. 

• Proceed to fill out the Online DAF by entering the required information.

Online DAF has SIX modules: Personal, Educational Information, Parental Information, Employment Information, Upload Documents, and Final Submission. 

Candidates have to upload the scanned copies of the following documents:

• Proof of Birth Date

• Subject-specific academic details and qualifications

• Category Certificate (Only for candidates from the reserved categories)

• Proof of age or fee (if applicable) by certificate

• Disability Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (where applicable)

• Certificate of Residence from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim, or Mizoram (if applicable)

UPSC ESE 2023 Interview

Candidates achieving the qualifying marks in the UPSC ESE (Main)Written Exam will be shortlisted for the interview round. The number of candidates called for the Personality Test will be roughly double the number of vacancies for each department of engineering services to be filled through this recruitment. Candidates will be evaluated on their leadership abilities, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities, physical and mental energy, practical application abilities, and character integrity during the Interview. This round will carry 200 marks.
