The AFCAT 2024 Notification PDF for the AFCAT 1/2024 Course, which will begin in January 2025, was released by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on 01 December 2023 on the official website. A total of 317 vacancies for the different courses batched have been announced for the AFCT (I) 2024.  The online AFCAT examination will be held on the 16th, 17th, and 18th of February (tentatively). AFCAT 1 Recruitment 2024

Every year, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts an entrance test (AFCAT) for the Flying Branch and the Ground Duty (Non-Technical and Technical) branches. The AFCAT Notification 2024 for the AFCAT 1/2024 Exam was officially released by the IAF for 38 Flying Branch Posts, 165 Ground Duty (Technical) branch and 114 Ground Duty (Non-technical) posts. 

Candidates who pass the Air Force Common Admission Test-2024 (AFCAT 1 Exam 2024) will be shortlisted for courses beginning in January 2025 and will be awarded a Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Non-Technical and Technical). The online registration process for AFCAT 1/2024 began on 01 December 2023, at www.afcat.cdac.in.

AFCAT Eligibility 2024 

Candidates who wish to apply for the AFCAT 01/2024 examination must meet the Indian Air Force's eligibility criteria, which include nationality, educational qualification, marital status, and so on.

  • Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen, according to the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955
  • Educational Qualification: Essential educational requirements for GD Technical/Non-technical and Flying Branch is as follows:

Flying Branch & Ground Duty (Non-technical)- The candidate must have a minimum of 50% in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level, as well as a three-year graduation degree OR a BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognized university.

Ground Duty (Technical)- i)Aeronautical engineering (Electronics)(AE(L)): The candidate must have a minimum of 60% marks in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level, as well as a degree in graduation/post-graduation in engineering and technology from a recognized university.

  • Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025): for Flying Branch candidates must be between 20 to 24 years (Candidate must have been born between January 2, 2001 and January 1, 2005) for Technical and non-technical ground duty candidates must be between 20 to 26 years of age (Candidate must have been born between 02/01/1999 and 01/01/2005).
  • Marital Status: Candidates must be unmarried at the start of the course, and marriage is not permitted during training.

Application Process for AFCAT (I) 2024

Candidates interested in applying for 317 vacancies in Flying Branches and Ground-Duty (Non-Technical) Branches must submit their applications by 30 December 2023. The steps to follow and the official application link for the AFCAT 1 2024 exam is provided below.

Step 1: Navigate to the official website, afcat.cdac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click the “REGISTRATION FOR AFCAT 01/2024 ( FOR FLYING, GROUND TECHNICAL, GROUND DUTY NON TECHNICAL BRANCHES) AND NCC SPECIAL ENTRY (FOR FLYING BRANCH)” link under the News section.

Step 3: A new window will be opened. Enter your login credentials and press the Submit button. (If you are not already registered on the portal, please do so first.)

Step 4: Finish filling out the application form and uploading all required documents.

Step 5: Download the confirmation page and print it for future reference.

Application Fee: To apply for AFCAT entry candidates have to pay an online examination fee of Rs. 550/- + GST (non-refundable), application fee is exempted for the NCC special entry candidates. The examination fee can be paid online via the payment gateway with credit/debit cards or net banking.

FAQ

The AFCAT (I) Notification 2024 has been released by the IAF on 01 December 2023.

Candidates can apply for the AFCAT 1 Examination 2024 from 01 December to 30 December 2023.

The IAF has announced a total of 317 vacancies for different branches for AFCAT 2024 Recruitment.

A candidate must not have reached the age of 24 on the date of commencement of the batch.
