The 2nd All India State Water Minister’s Conference was held in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on 18 & 19 February 2025. The conference is a continuation of the first All-India State Water Ministers’ Conference held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on 5 & 6 January 2023.

The Conference was organised to discuss strategies and concrete action plans to achieve the country’s long-term water security strategy and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

  • The 2nd All India State Water Minister’s Conference was organised by the National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

Theme of the 2nd All India State Water Minister’s Conference 

  • The theme of the 2nd All India State Water Minister’s Conference was - India@2047 – A Water Secure Nation.

The conference's six thematic pillars were Strengthening Water Governance, Water Storage Infrastructure and Augmenting the Supply, Water Delivery Services with a Focus on Drinking Water, Water Delivery Services with a Focus on Irrigation and Other Use, Demand Management and Water Use Efficiency, and Integrated River and Coastal Management.

Who Inaugurated the Conference?

The Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil inaugurated the Conference on 18 February 2025.  The Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was also present on the occasion.

Participants of the Conference

The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Majhi, and the Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr Manik Saha, attended the conference. The Deputy Chief Ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, 30 Ministers and over 300 delegates participated in the two-day Conference.

Piku, the Mascot of the  National Water Mission 

During the Conference, the chief guest and the delegates were given Piku, the National Water Mission's mascot, as a memento.

Piku is a peacock symbolising water conservation and environmental balance. 

The memento was crafted by the tribal women artists of Udaipur and its surrounding region.
