President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the International Literature Festival Utkarsh and Unmesh on August 3 at Rabindra Bhavan in Bhopal. This is the second edition of UNMESH International Literature Festival. The first festival was held in Shimla.
Unmesh and Utkarsh is an initiative to make Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
Unmesha’ – International Literature Festival and ‘Utkarsh’ – Festival of Folk and Tribal Performing Arts, being organised by the Ministry of Culture in association with Sahitya Akademi and Sangeet Natak Akademi respectively.
Governor Mangubhai Patel and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were also present on the occasion.
About the program
Utkarsh and Unmesh will be held from August 3 to August 5. More than 575 participants from 14 countries are participating in the event in more than 100 languages.
A cultural exhibition of more than 1000 artists depicting the spirit of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" is also organised. There will be a book exhibition by Sahitya Akademi, cultural presentations by tribal communities and group discussions on devotion, cinema and tribal literature.
