Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra finished second in the men's javelin throw event with a throw of 83.80 meters at the Diamond League 2023 in America.
The Diamond League 2023 competition was held in Eugene, Oregon, United States.
- In this event, Jakub Vadlec of Czech Republic secured first place with 84.24 meters. This is Jacob Wadlake's third title.
Neeraj Chopra had won the gold medal in the same league last year:
- Neeraj Chopra had become the first Indian to win the Diamond League Trophy 2022 last year, but this time Indian star Neeraj Chopra could not save his javelin throw title at Hayward Field.
- Reigning Olympic and world champion Chopra had won a silver medal at the World Championships at the same venue last year with a throw of 88.13m.
- Neeraj had won India's first gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in early September 2023.
