The 9th edition of the three-day Global Technology Summit was inaugurated in New Delhi by the External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on 10 April 2025. The Global Technology Summit, to be held from 10-12 April 2025, is India’s flagship dialogue on geo-technology.
It brings together leaders from the government of India and thought leaders from industry, academia, and civil society from India and abroad to discuss and deliberate on the changing nature of technology and its impact on global geopolitics.
The summit aims to create a new framework of engagement that addresses concerns of all stakeholders without hindering technological progress and innovation.
The Global Technology Summit is co- organised by the Ministry of External Affairs with New Delhi based think tank Carnegie India. It is an annual dialogue that was first held in December 2016.
The theme of the 9th Global Technology Summit is "Sambhavna”.
The 9th summit will focus on the use of possibilities (sambhavna) of the use of emerging technologies to drive inclusive growth, strengthen digital governance, and deepen cross-border partnerships.
The Global Technology Summit has always focused on engaging global leaders.
This year, around 150 speakers from 40 countries, including Australia, France, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan,, Netherlands, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the European Union.
They will discuss a wide range of topics from artificial intelligence (AI) governance, cybersecurity, digital public infrastructure, and data protection, space security, and emerging technology collaboration across the Global South.
Carnegie India is a non -non-government, non-profit think tank and policy research group that was established in 2016.
It was set up by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a think tank of the United States of America.
The center’s research and programme focus includes the political economy of reform in India, foreign and security policy, and the role of innovation and technology in India’s internal transformation and international relations.
