India and Trinidad and Tobago have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to share India Stack.
India Stack is a collection of open application programming interfaces (APIs) and digital public goods that aim to facilitate large-scale identity, data and payment services.
Both sides agreed to cooperate in the areas of digital transformation through capacity building, training programs, best practices, exchange of public officials and experts, development of pilot or demo solutions, etc.
The cooperation agreement between the two sides follows the meeting of Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar with Trinidad and Tobago's Minister of Digital Transformation, Senator Hasel Bachus, last week.
During the meeting, both the leaders discussed mutual cooperation in the field of IT, emerging technologies and India Stack.
India, believing in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family), has always encouraged India Stack offerings to various countries, especially those that have lagged behind in their digitization efforts.
These countries can rapidly scale the digitization ladder with the help of India Stack and transform their economies and governance.
This will create a strong ecosystem of startups, developers and system integrators working on next generation innovation.
India has already signed MoUs with countries like Armenia, Sierra Leone, Suriname and Antigua and Barbuda to share India Stack before June 2023. While many countries like Mauritius, Saudi Arabia have shown interest to join it.
A similar MoU was also signed with Papua New Guinea last month, showing the growing interest and acceptance of the initiative globally.
UPI, which is also a part of the India stack, has been accepted in France, UAE, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
India Stack is a set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that enables governments, businesses, startups and developers to use a unique digital infrastructure to solve India's problems towards presence-less, paperless and cashless service delivery. allows.
The Open API team of the Indian Software Product Industry Round Table (ISPIRT) has been a pro bono participant in the development and promotion of systems.
