Recently, NASA and IBM announced that an artificial intelligence (AI) tool called watsonx.ai will be available on the open-source AI platform Hugging Face.

About watsonx.ai:

  • It is an artificial intelligence tool jointly developed by NASA and IBM.
  • It will also help users monitor the Earth from space, measure environmental changes that have already occurred, as well as make predictions about the future.
  • The model is also designed to be extremely simple to use.
  • The user will only need to select a location and a date, and the model will highlight changes in flood waters, reforestation efforts, and other relevant factors.
  • In the case of watsonx.ai, NASA provides the dataset (in terms of satellite images rather than words) and IBM has introduced an all-in-one toolkit delivering AI solutions for enterprises.
