JP Nadda launches Tripura government’s 2 schemes for girls in Agartala

The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jagat Prakash Nadda, on 9 March 2023, launched the two welfare schemes of the Tripura government for the girls of the state.
The scheme -Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana and Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana - was launched on the occasion of the two years of the formation of the BJP government in the state.
BJP came to power in Tripura in 2018, ending 25 years of rule of the Left Front led by CPI(M) in the state. Initially, Biplab Deb was made the Chief Minister by the BJP, but he was replaced by Dr Manik Saha before the 2022 legislative assembly election.
The BJP government, led by Manik Saha, was swept back to power in the 2023 legislative assembly election, and Dr Manik Saha was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tripura for the second time on 8 March 2023.
To celebrate the occasion the state government organised a massive rally at Swami Vivekanand Maidan in Agartala, the capital of Tripura, on 9th March 2025..
The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, and other distinguished leaders of the BJP were present on the occasion.
Tripura was a Princely state that joined India after India’s independence.
It was made a Union Territory after the enactment of the State Reorganisation Act 1956.
It was made a state on 21 January 1972.
Tripura is situated in the North Eastern region of the country.
It shares an 856 km international border with Bangladesh.
Amongst states, it shares a border with Assam and Mizoram.
