The premier Indian higher educational institutions, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Ahmedabad and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), will open their overseas campus in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The prestigious Indian Institute of Technology -Delhi already has a campus in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
This was announced during the visit of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, to India.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was on his first official visit to India from 8-9 April 2025.
During his visit to India, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited New Delhi and Mumbai.
During his visit to New Delhi, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hosted a lunch in his honour at his official residence in Lok Kalyan Marg.
Sheikh Hamdan also met External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
In Mumbai, Sheikh Hamdan met Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, during the high-level business meeting.
Several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements were announced during Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
