The India International Science Festival (IISF) 2023 is set to begin on January 17, 2024 in Faridabad, Haryana. The four-day mega science festival will end on January 20, 2024.

About India International Science Festival (IISF) 2023

The Indian Government's Department of Science and Technology (DST) is organizing the 9th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) in 2023. 

  • The National Innovation Foundation-India, an autonomous body of DST, is responsible for coordinating and implementing the event. 
  • The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) manages the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) - Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) in Faridabad, Haryana, and will be the host institute for this grand event.

Aim: 

The purpose of the science festival is to honor India's accomplishments in the cutting-edge fields of science and technology. 

The festival also strives to recognize the achievements of science enthusiasts, promote a scientific outlook among young students, and disseminate it among the Indian populace.

Theme: 

The central theme of IISF 2023 is “Science and Technology Public Outreach in Amrit Kaal”.

  • The festival has been taking place since 2015, and the upcoming IISF 2023 will be the ninth edition of the festival. A total of 17 events have been scheduled for this edition. 
  • IISF is committed to commemorating science and making it accessible to everyone. 
  • Its primary objective is to engage people with science in an enjoyable and entertaining manner, leading to the betterment of health, prosperity, and a meaningful life.
