Himachal Government Started 15 Day “Him Mahotsav” In Delhi State news 3 min read

Himachal Pradesh is going to organise a 15-day 'Him Mahotsav' in New Delhi. This Mahotsav will be organised from 16 to 30 December, in New Delhi. This Mahotsav will create a marketing platform for the state.

Him Mahotsav Inauguration:

  • Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will inaugurate the festival on 17 December 2023.

Objective of organising Him Mahotsav:

  • The objective of the Him Mahotsav is to provide a platform to artisans and craftsmen to showcase their talents and products.
  • To market the state's goods at the national and international level.
  • To showcase the rich crafts, handlooms and cuisines of the state.
  • The Him Mahotsav aims to showcase the culture, crafts and cuisine of Himachal through a fashion show in the national capital.
  • To popularise these, artisans have been involved in showcasing traditional Himachali clothes with the help of fashion designers.

HPTDC, Nodal Department of ‘Him Craft Mahotsav’:

  • Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) will be the nodal department for the ‘Him Craft Mahotsav’. The Rural Development Department will be the partner for the ‘Him Craft Mahotsav’.
  • There is immense potential to popularise the crafts of Himachal.
  • Him Craft had the highest sales of Rs 2.50 crore among all the stalls set up during the G20 summit in New Delhi earlier this year.
  • MPs and senior officials posted in New Delhi have been invited to this program.
  • Himachal Handloom and Handicrafts Corporation has been named Him Craft and given a logo.

Main Attractions of Him Mahotsav:

  • Himachal's crafts like Naati, Chamba Rumal, Kullu and Kinnaur shawls and Kangra miniature paintings are being showcased.
  • In this festival, 60 artisans and self-help groups have been provided with free stalls so that they can display various products of the state.
