The first edition of the FIH Hockey5s World Cup will be held in Muscat, the capital of Oman. Both men's and women's competitions will be held during the World Cup. Hockey5s is played with 5 players per team.

FIH Hockey5s Women's World Cup 2024:

The FIH Hockey5s Women's World Cup 2024 will be held from January 24 to January 27.

Teams -

A total of 16 teams will participate.
Pool A – Fiji, Malaysia, Netherlands, Oman
Pool B – Australia, South Africa, Ukraine, Zambia
Pool C – India, Namibia, Poland, United States
Pool D – New Zealand, Paraguay, Thailand, Uruguay

Indian women's team -

Captain – Rajni Etimarpu (Goalkeeper)
Vice Captain – Mahima Chaudhary
Other members – Bansari Solanki, Akshata Abaso Dhekale, Jyoti Chhatri, Mariana Kujur, Mumtaz Khan, Azmina Kujur, Rutaja Dadaso Pisal and Deepika Soreng.

The FIH Hockey5s Men's World Cup 2024 will be held from January 28 to January 31.

Pool B – India, Egypt, Jamaica, Switzerland
Pool C – Australia, Kenya, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago
Pool D – Fiji, Malaysia, Oman, United States

Hockey 5-s?

Hockey 5-s is a new and shorter format of hockey played with great speed and high skill.
In this match of 20 minutes, both teams have five players each.
The playing field for this shorter format is half the size of the regular field.
As per FIH rules, the maximum size for Hockey 5-S turf will be 55 X 42 metres, while the minimum size will be 40 X 28 metres.
