The Chinese government has removed its Defense Minister Li Shangfu, who was missing for the last two months. The Chinese government has not given any explanation behind the removal of Li Shangfu from the post.
Former Defense Minister Li Shangfu was seen in late August:
- Li Shangfu was last seen on a public platform on 29 August 2023.
- In the cabinet reshuffle held in March by the Chinese government, Li Shangfu was given the responsibility of Defense Minister.
- In this context, it is believed that Chinese President Xi Jinping might have taken such steps because of his harsh policies.
- However, no official information has been given yet in this regard. President Xi Jinping has spoken openly about corruption many times.
Li Shangfu banned from entering America:
- America has imposed sanctions on former Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu. Because of this they cannot get entry into America.
Many ministers have also disappeared before Li Shangfu:
- Before Defense Minister Li Shangfu, former Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang has also gone missing. No information has been received yet about Qin Gang being removed from his post as foreign minister in July without any explanation.
- The Chinese government has not yet given any explanation as to why the former Foreign Minister and Defense Minister disappeared.
