The Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched the state government’s Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi at the Krishi Upaj Mandi in Tonk on 30 June 2024. The chief minister released Rs 650 crore as the first installment to around 65 lakh farmers of the state. The eligible farmers of the state will receive the benefits under the state scheme along with the Rs 6000 per year paid by the central government under the PM-KISAN scheme.
Features of the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi
- It is an income support scheme launched by the state government to boost the income of the eligible farmers of the state.
- Under the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi the eligible farmers will receive Rs 2000 per year.
- They will receive money in three installments - Rs 1000, Rs 500 and Rs 500.
- The first installment was directly transferred by the chief minister at Tonk on 30 June 2024.
- The second and the third installment will be received by the farmer along with the PM -KISAN fund transfer.
- The amount will be directly transferred into the bank account of the eligible farmers.
- Around 65 lakh farmers of the state are eligible under the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Nodal agency for the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi
The Cooperative Department,government of Rajasthan has been designated as the nodal department for the effective implementation of the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Custom Hiring Center
- The Chief Minister also formally launched 21 Custom Hiring Centers at the Village Service Cooperative Societies of the state.
- These Centers will rent modern agricultural equipment to the farmers at a nominal rate.
- The chief minister announced that the state government will provide Rs 8 lakhs to the every village service cooperative societies of the state for this purpose.
Rs3 lakhs to women run village service cooperative societies
- The chief minister also distributed Rs 3 lakh each to the 51 women-run village service cooperative societies in the state.
- The women-run societies aim to develop leadership skills amongst the rural women and empower them so that they can take decisions concerning their own development and welfare.
Rs 350 crore interest free loans to the farmers
- Bhajan Lal Sharma also released interest free short term crop loans worth Rs 350 crore to around 25 lakh farmers of the state.
- Speaking on the occasion the chief minister said that the state government has set a target to sanction interest free short term crop loans worth Rs 23,000 crore to the farmers of the state.
- Loans sanctioned under the scheme will be short term crop loans and will be interest free for the farmers. The entire interest payment on the loans will be borne by the state government.
- He said that so far around Rs 10,000 crore loans have been sanctioned to over 25 lakh farmers of the state .
