After Dhoni Rohit Sharma became player to Play 250 IPL matches

Rohit Sharma, a former captain of Mumbai Indians, recently played his 250th Indian Premier League match, becoming only the second player to do so after MS Dhoni. Rohit reached this milestone in a match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

• Rohit has been part of the IPL since 2008 when he started with the now-defunct team, Deccan Chargers. Since 2011, he has been with Mumbai Indians and has helped the team to win five IPL titles. Dhoni has played the most IPL matches, with 256 IPL under his belt.
• In his previous 249 IPL matches, Rohit has scored 6472 runs at an average of 30.10 and a strike rate of 131.22. He has hit two centuries and 42 half-centuries in his IPL career. 
• One of those centuries came in Mumbai Indians' last match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
• In that match, Rohit scored an unbeaten 105, but his team fell short by 20 runs while chasing a target of 207. Mumbai Indians had previously won two matches against Delhi 
• Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, breaking their three-match losing streak. However, the defeat to CSK meant that they had to start over again.

Records of Rohit Sharma

Sharma is a famous cricket player who holds several batting records. He has hit the most sixes in international cricket and scored the most double centuries in ODI cricket (3). He also has the most centuries at Cricket World Cups (7) and is tied for the most hundreds in Twenty20 Internationals (5).

Awards and Accolades

• In 2015, Rohit Sharma received the 'Arjuna Award'. He was named Sportsman of the Year at the 2015 GQ awards. In 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, his name was included in the ICC ODI Team of the Year. 
• He was also named ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2019. Additionally, he received the Golden Bat award in 2019 for scoring the most runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup. 
• In 2019, he was honored with the Sportsman of the Year award at the Indian Sports Honours. 
• In 2020, he was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, the highest honor for sports in India.
