The railway is known as the lifeline of the country and Indian Railways is known as the largest recruiter in the world. There are many candidates who look forward to having a career in the Railways because of its lucrative packages, employee benefits, social prestige, and much more. The recruitment for various posts in the railways is made on the basis of competitive exams which are conducted regularly by the Railway Recruitment Board or the RRB. Here we are listing some of the most popular Railway Exams which students go can for if they want a future in the Railways.

RRB NTPC

Eligibility

Nationality

The candidate be a citizen of:

  • India
  • Nepal
  • Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit

The candidate must be between the age of 18 to 30 years. Relaxation has been provided to reserved candidates. 

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institute or university.

Exam Pattern

The recruitment process of this exam is done in 4stages. The 1st Stage is Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage is the Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test and Document Verification/Medical Examination.

RRB ALP

Eligibility

Nationality

The candidate be a citizen of:

  • India
  • Nepal
  • Bhutan
  • In case of migration to India from countries like Zambia, Taiwan, etc, candidates must have migration documents confirming the Indian Citizenship approved by the Government of India.

Age Limit

The candidate must be between the age of 18 to 30 years. Relaxation has been provided to reserved candidates. 

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have passed Class X and completed the course Act Apprenticeship Industrial Training Institute approved by NCVT or SCVT in the respective trade.

Those candidates who have a diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Automobile Engineering recognized by the AICTE are also eligible for the exam.

Exam Pattern

This exam is conducted in two stages – First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) and Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT). 

RRB Group D

Eligibility

Nationality

The candidate be a citizen of:

  • India
  • Nepal
  • Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee permanently settled in India from and before January 1, 1962.
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

The candidate must be between the age of 18 to 33 years. Relaxation has been provided to reserved candidates. 

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have passed Class X and completed course Act Apprenticeship Industrial Training Institute approved by NCVT or SCVT or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT (or) equivalent in the respective trade.

Those candidates who have a diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Automobile Engineering recognized by the AICTE are also eligible for the exam.

This exam is conducted in three stages – First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test, and Document Verification. 

RRB JE

Eligibility

Nationality

The candidate be a citizen of:

  • India
  • Nepal
  • Bhutan

Age Limit

The candidate must be between the age of 18 to 30 years. Relaxation has been provided to reserved candidates. 

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized university.

Medical Examination

Candidates should pass the medical standards as per RRB.

Exam Pattern

This exam is conducted in three stages – First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) and Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), and Document Verification/ Medical Examination
